The one thing that motivates me more than anything else

It’s not my family. It’s not money. It’s not fame.

I’m not about to open up a philosophical discussion about the meaning of life or what happens after we die. I want to focus on right now.

Right now you are alive. But right now isn’t forever, it’s fleeting.

And at some point your fleets will run out.

You won’t be alive. You’ll be dead.

I’m glad we cleared that up.

I bring up this morbid topic because:

A.) It’s true.

B.) Not many people live like it’s true.

I’ve encountered plenty of people who live their life like it will go on forever.

Someday I’ll do that one thing I’ve always wanted to do.

Tomorrow I’ll be a better person.

Maybe next year I’ll finally leave this soul-sucking job and find something more fulfilling.

If this is you and you are happy, I’m happy too.

But for the majority of people who complain about their life’s problems and don’t do anything about it, what are you waiting for?

At 22 I entered corporate America. At 22 and a half I realized I did not want to work in corporate America. As much as that qualifies me for the stereotypical Millennial label, I didn’t complain, I did something about it.

Why?

Because I didn’t want to waste away the next 30–40 years of my life in an environment I didn’t enjoy?

Why?

Because there is no guarantee of the next 30–40 years.

Which meant I wanted do everything in my power to go after my dreams and build the life that made me happy.

And that is what I am doing today.

So if Death comes knocking tomorrow, he’ll find a happy man grateful for his motivation.

The only question now is, will he find the same at your doorstep?
