I know Todd, he takes his loved ones seriously

This isn’t just some generic advice shared by another ‘thought-leader’ on Medium, this is actually Todd’s life.

He’s the only guy I know who has over 30-thousand readers on Medium and instead of looking for ways to ‘make money’ online, tweets about his guacamole obsession instead:

Todd and I are friends, we also belong to the same Mastermind group that meets Tuesday night’s. (It’s actually a call between friends at this point.)

“Is everyone still good for the call tonight?” I’ll text the group.

“Naw guys, spending time with Kate.” Todd will every once and awhile reply.*

It’s not an excuse. It’s not being lazy. It’s Todd putting his wife before all else.

It’s something I struggle with. I too often sacrifice family time with my wife (and sometimes son) for my idol, productivity.

Todd is a bold reminder of what really matters in life. He lives what he preaches.

I’m grateful of his reminder in my life, because I sure as hell would be lost without it.

*UPDATE: I recently learned that the last time Todd couldn’t make our mastermind call, he was off celebrating Pi Day with a piping hot chicken pot pie for dinner at his father-in-law’s. Apple pie was also served. This was a classic Todd move.
