I really don’t care who wins the election.
I don’t care because whoever wins won’t prevent me from doing the two most important things in my life:
- Providing for my family
- Helping others to find and live out their fullest potential
As long as I can do those two things, my future is bright and dandy.
The election is a big deal, I understand, but that doesn’t mean it will have a profound impact on me.
No matter who wins, I can still do what I believe I was meant to do with my life.
No person, no country, no political party will hold me back. Heck, you could plop me in the middle of 1940’s USSR and I’d still find a way to go after my dreams.
I don’t intend to stir up any heated discussion about this year’s election. And I certainly hope to not offend anyone. But I want to get across an important mindset:
Only you are responsible for your future.
Sure, situations may arise, like losing a job or having a baby, that might slow down your progress. Years may go by before you even take one step toward your dream again.
But your dream is always there, in your future, waiting for you to embark on your journey.
Nothing in this world (apart from death) can prevent you from starting over each and every time you are held back.
And that’s the key: your journey is more important than actually reaching your dream.
Outside factors and sheer dumb luck might alter your journey, but nothing can take it away.
The path may change, but your desire to walk upon it will not.
Control your future.
